Labyrinth - Elena Vylusk
“The labyrinth of human relations is my vision,” says Ukrainian artist Lena Vylusk. “The labyrinth is interesting and scary—you can find a way out or you can get lost. In this painting, a little bird, a sparrow, sits on a sewing machine that sews this labyrinth, and the painting lets the viewer decide whether or not she knows where to go.”
“I wanted to paint the sparrow because they’re brave birds—they’re constantly living close to people, and I often see them in my garden, so I gave her the role of a guide through this labyrinth.”
